ANET A8 3d Printer

Anet A8 3D Printer
So I broke down and ordered a 3D Printer. It is an Anet A8 3D Prusa Printer i3.  It finally arrived the other day and while the box had a few blemishes, the contents were in good shape.

Instructions, as with everyone else's comments, are a big ole Maggie Drawers!  For those of you who are not familiar with shooting terms, at least on the Marine Corps side, that means a MISS!  But fail not readers, what is not written in black and white has been placed on YouTube.  Well, how to put this daggum thing together at least.  Anet YouTube Assembly

I have, at least for now, unboxed it and the contents are out on the table.

I know I know, small steps....

My current step in the assembly process is peeling off the protective tape from the framing. Hey, I'm getting somewhere! HA Hopefully, in the next day or two I will at least have the framing completed.  I am really looking forward to getting down and dirty with building it.

More to follow...

So its been a couple of months and I apologize to all the happy readers out there.  The printer was put together and I will try and finish this blog now.  First off, I have to say that only after I got the thing put together and sat down with the USB stick that was furnished, I saw it. Yep, there it was, the instruction manual on how to put the dag-gum thing together.  BAH!!  Anywho, this old Jarhead figured it out and got it together.  By the way, which one of you said "You Jarheads are stupid?"

So it was pretty much straight forward getting it together.  The nuts fit in the little nut slot and then you screw the provided screws together until it's hinged.  As you can see it is well on its way to being assembled.

Adjacent is the guide frame for the bed.

Here is the hotbed installed.

Here is the LCD installed.

All the wiring attached.

Fully assembled. Woo Hoo!!

This is my first complete print.  It took several attempts to get this.  3D Printing is a hobby.  It is not a plug and play kind of deal.

So it took me a couple of weeks to get this thing together, dag-gum real life getting in the way.  Currently, I have a second PSU and Mosfet (Instructions) that I am going to install so I don't burn out the main board.  Besides, its another project!
